The nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington will be deployed to the South American continent in the coming months, as part of Operation Southern Seas 2024, announced last Friday, 8.
The movement will involve naval transit exercises and maritime operations in collaboration with the military forces of countries in the region, as declared by United States authorities.
In addition, visits and exchange sessions between officers are planned during the aircraft carrier’s stay in the region.
According to information released by the United States Embassy in Brazil, a visit to the port of Rio de Janeiro is scheduled during the USS George Washington’s passage along the Brazilian coast.
