Whether to accompany bread and toast, or to use in desserts, this banana jam is mouthwatering!

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of banana (5 large heavy bananas without the peel)

  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered cloves or 5 units

  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) grated ginger

  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon powder

  • 240 ml of water

Directions

  • Mash the bananas very well with a fork on a plate and set aside.
  • In a pan put 1 cup of sugar, lead to fire and when it melts put the rest.
  • Stir the sugar until it melts completely, add the water little by little and keep stirring until you form a caramelized syrup.
  • Add the mashed bananas to the caramelized syrup and stir well until the mixture is homogeneous.
  • Put the grated ginger, lemon juice, powdered cloves, powdered cinnamon and mix very well over low heat for a few minutes.
  • When the mixture comes to a boil, stir a little more and turn off the heat. 
    Transfer the mixture to a container with a lid and wait to cool at room temperature.
  • Store the candy in the fridge when it’s cold and the banana jam is ready to eat.
