Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Grease a round cake tin with butter and flour, or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas to a creamy consistency.
  • Add the melted butter and mix well.
  • Then add the sugar and eggs, and beat well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using). 
    Mix the dry ingredients well.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to banana mixture, stirring until all ingredients are incorporated. 
    If using chopped walnuts, add them at this step.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
  • Once cold, serve the sliced ​​banana cake. 
    You can accompany it with a caramel topping, vanilla ice cream or simply enjoy it on its own.
