Ingredients
3 ripe bananas
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (optional)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease a round cake tin with butter and flour, or line it with parchment paper. - In a large bowl, mash the bananas to a creamy consistency.
- Add the melted butter and mix well.
- Then add the sugar and eggs, and beat well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using).
Mix the dry ingredients well. - Gradually add dry ingredients to banana mixture, stirring until all ingredients are incorporated.
If using chopped walnuts, add them at this step. - Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
- Once cold, serve the sliced banana cake.
You can accompany it with a caramel topping, vanilla ice cream or simply enjoy it on its own.
