Bakery pudding is a traditional Brazilian sweet, which is found in bakeries and confectioneries across the country. It is a creamy and tasty sweet, which is made with milk, eggs, sugar, wheat flour and, sometimes, grated coconut or grated cheese.

Bakery pudding is a versatile sweet that can be served plain or with syrup, fruit or whipped cream. 
It’s a perfect dessert for any occasion, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or a party.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of milk

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 and 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup grated coconut (optional)

  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)

Directions

  • In a pan, melt the sugar until it forms a caramel.
  • Pour the caramel into the pudding mold.
  • In a blender, beat the milk, eggs, sugar, wheat flour, grated coconut and grated cheese (if using).
  • Pour the mixture into the mold with the caramel.
  • Bake in a medium oven (180°C), in a bain-marie, for about 1 hour or until the pudding is baked.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Unmold the pudding and serve.
