Blender sardine pie is a savory pie that uses a blender to mix the dough ingredients. The dough is then placed in a baking dish, filled with a mixture of sardines and other ingredients, and baked until golden and firm.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup of oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 cans of sardines in oil (or natural), drained and mashed

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 chopped tomatoes

  • Parsley and chives to taste

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Olive oil for sautéing

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a frying pan, heat some olive oil and sauté the onion until it becomes transparent.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they start to soften.
  • Add the crushed sardines and season with salt, pepper, parsley and chives to taste.
  • Reserve.
  • In a blender, place the eggs, milk, oil, wheat flour and salt.
  • Mix until you get a smooth mixture.
  • Add the baking powder and beat quickly just to mix.
  • In a greased and floured pan, pour half of the dough.
  • Spread the filling over the dough in the pan.
  • Cover the filling with the rest of the dough.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until the pie is golden and firm.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before unmolding and serving.
