Ingredients
500g ground meat (can be beef, pork or mixed meat)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 egg
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh or dried herbs to taste (such as parsley, chives, oregano)
200g mozzarella cheese (or other cheese of your choice), sliced
150g ham, sliced
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs and herbs.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Place the dough on a sheet of aluminum foil or baking paper and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Distribute the slices of cheese and ham over the dough, leaving a free edge at the ends to make it easier to seal.
- Carefully begin to roll the ground meat over the filling, forming a roll.
- Use aluminum foil or butter to help shape the roulade.
- Transfer the roulade to a baking dish and place in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until the meat is cooked and golden.
- Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes and slice the roulade. Serve it hot.
