Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (can be beef, pork or mixed meat)

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh or dried herbs to taste (such as parsley, chives, oregano)

  • 200g mozzarella cheese (or other cheese of your choice), sliced

  • 150g ham, sliced

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs and herbs.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • Place the dough on a sheet of aluminum foil or baking paper and roll it out into a rectangle.
  • Distribute the slices of cheese and ham over the dough, leaving a free edge at the ends to make it easier to seal.
  • Carefully begin to roll the ground meat over the filling, forming a roll.
  • Use aluminum foil or butter to help shape the roulade.
  • Transfer the roulade to a baking dish and place in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until the meat is cooked and golden.
  • Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes and slice the roulade. Serve it hot.
