Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces

  • 1/4 cup ice water

  • A bit of salt

  • 2 cans of drained tuna

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes (can be fresh or canned tomatoes)

  • 1/2 cup chopped green or black olives

  • 1/2 cup green corn (optional)

  • 1/2 cup peas (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped red pepper (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of cream

Directions

  • Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add the butter and mix until it forms a crumb texture.
  • Add the ice water little by little, stirring until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
  • Add the drained tuna, tomatoes, olives, corn, peas, pepper, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the ingredients are well mixed and cooked.
  • Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface and line a pie dish.
  • Add the prepared filling over the dough.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the cream.
  • Pour this mixture over the filling in the mold.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the filling is firm.
