Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
1/4 cup ice water
A bit of salt
2 cans of drained tuna
1 chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 cup chopped tomatoes (can be fresh or canned tomatoes)
1/2 cup chopped green or black olives
1/2 cup green corn (optional)
1/2 cup peas (optional)
1/2 cup chopped red pepper (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon of olive oil
3 eggs
1 cup of cream
Directions
- Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the butter and mix until it forms a crumb texture.
- Add the ice water little by little, stirring until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
- Add the drained tuna, tomatoes, olives, corn, peas, pepper, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Cook for a few minutes until the ingredients are well mixed and cooked.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and line a pie dish.
- Add the prepared filling over the dough.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the cream.
- Pour this mixture over the filling in the mold.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the filling is firm.
