Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met in Beijing this Tuesday, 16th, to discuss the importance of bilateral relations between China and Germany.

In turn, Olaf Scholz emphasized the importance of fair competition and expressed support for free trade, opposing protectionist measures. He highlighted the need to avoid practices such as dumping, overproduction and copyright infringement.
During the meeting, Scholz agreed with Xi on the need to combat protectionism and reinforced Germany’s commitment to fighting climate change and other global challenges. He mentioned the close exchanges between the two countries at various levels and fields, including high-level strategic and financial dialogues.
