minutesChristmas rice is generally white rice, cooked in salted water. Color and flavor are added by ingredients such as raisins, almonds, chestnuts, corn, peas, carrots, peppers and green chillies.
Ingredients
1 kilo of white rice
2 tablespoons of oil
1 chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 chopped carrots
1 chopped green pepper
1/2 cup green corn
1/2 cup cooked peas
100 grams of chopped almonds
100 grams of black raisins
Salt to taste
Directions
- In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
- Add the carrot, pepper, corn, peas, almonds and raisins and sauté for a few more minutes.
- Add the rice and stir well.
- Add the water and salt and place over high heat.
- When the water boils, lower the heat and cover the pan.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is soft and the water has dried.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
