The Secretary of Children, Adolescents and Family, Pablo de la Torre, considers that these issues are ideological and, therefore, irrelevant; him while he conveys HIS ideology that we already knew when he spoke out against the legalization of abortion in this room in 2018.
It is clear who they plan to point their weapons at in this ideological and cultural battle that accompanies the set of counter-reforms against the vast majority of working people.

But I want to focus on gender violence, which is an issue vilified by La Libertad Avanza. De la Torre himself, in last week’s plenary session, said “violence has no gender, it doesn’t worry me.” It does concern us.
And before you answer that all victims of violence concern you equally, I inform you that when we talk about gender violence we are referring to a specific phenomenon related to social norms related to masculinity and that propose imposing the control or power of men. , enforce stereotypical gender roles.
80% of the victims of intentional homicides are men. And they are also 90% of the perpetrators. And when we talk about this specific phenomenon of sexist or gender violence, we find that 90% of the victims are women and 100% of the perpetrators are men.
While the Secretary was speaking here, the National Ombudsman’s Office reported that, in 2023, there were 242 fatal victims of gender violence: 212 women, 7 trans people and 23 linked femicides (of which 7 were women, 15 men and 1 trans person).

When they attack working people with adjustments, tariffs, and inflation, as the previous government did and the current one doubles down, also tied to the IMF and favoring more openly the most concentrated economic power, we women are the most affected.
They have not yet proposed modifying legal abortion. Not because they don’t want to, but because they know that it was not a government, but a massive movement in the streets that conquered each and every one of our rights and that today is closely monitoring what the opposition deputies will do.
We women have already taken the pots from our homes to the streets again, to recover the social ties broken by the neoliberal “every man for himself” and cook the dreams that feed our common existence. There is no one better than us to imagine and propose new forms of collective organization of mutual care.
And we prepare to participate in the next strike and mobilization on January 24, demanding that it be the kickoff of a fighting plan to defeat the DNU and Milei’s omnibus law, Caputo’s adjustment and Bullrich’s repressive protocol.
Unionized and precarious, informal and unemployed workers, young students and activists… United, from below, democratically and trusting in our own strength, we know that, as we have done in other moments in History, we can become the spark that ignites the flame.
