To make the puree even tastier, you can add other ingredients, such as grated cheese, sour cream, chopped onion or bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo of cabotiá pumpkin, peeled and cut into cubes

  • 1 liter of water

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup of milk

  • Grated nutmeg to taste

  • Ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a large pan, place the pumpkin, water and salt.
  • Place over medium heat and cook until the pumpkin is soft.
  • Drain the water and mash the pumpkin with a fork or pass through a juicer.
  • Return the mashed pumpkin to the pan and add the butter, milk, nutmeg and black pepper.
  • Mix well and cook for a few more minutes, until the puree is creamy.
