This will help to caramelize the pineapple and give the pie a sweeter flavor.
Ingredients
2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
1 cup (tea) sugar
1/2 cup cold butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 can of condensed milk
1 can of cream
3 eggs
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 medium pineapple, chopped
1 teaspoon of sugar
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, butter and egg.
- Add the yeast and salt and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Roll out the dough in a greased and floured removable bottom pan.
- In a pan, mix the condensed milk, cream, eggs and cornstarch.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and add pineapple and sugar.
- Pour the filling over the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for about 30 minutes, or until golden.
Notes
- To make the dough fluffier, beat the butter with the sugar until it forms a cream.
- Do not roll out the dough before baking as it may deflate.
- If you want, you can decorate the pie with grated coconut or whipped cream.
