For your bruschetta to be perfect, use the ingredients following the step-by-step instructions:
Ingredients
6 slices of Italian bread or baguette
2 ripe tomatoes
1 clove of garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Cut the bread into 1 cm thick slices.
- On a baking tray, place the slices of bread and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the slices are crispy.
- Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce.
- Wash the tomatoes and remove the seeds.
- Chop the tomatoes into small cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped tomatoes with the chopped garlic, olive oil, salt and black pepper.
- Remove the slices of bread from the oven and spread the tomato sauce over them.
- Add basil leaves, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
