Ingredients
3 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of chocolate powder
1/2 cup oil
1 cup boiling water
2 cups of wheat flour
1 spoon of baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tablespoon of butter
1/2 cup of sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease and flour a 30 cm cake tin. - In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the chocolate powder and oil and mix well.
- Add the boiling water and mix again.
- In another bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing gently until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- In a saucepan, mix the milk, chocolate powder, butter and sugar.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
Notes
- To make the cake even fluffier, beat the egg whites and gently incorporate them into the dough.
- If you want, you can add chocolate shavings or chopped chocolate pieces to the dough.
- For a creamier frosting, use semisweet chocolate.
