To prepare your Nega Maluca Fofinha Cake, you will need to use the ingredients below and follow the step-by-step preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of chocolate powder

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 spoon of baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1/2 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Grease and flour a 30 cm cake tin.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the chocolate powder and oil and mix well.
  • Add the boiling water and mix again.
  • In another bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing gently until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • In a saucepan, mix the milk, chocolate powder, butter and sugar.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.

Notes

  • To make the cake even fluffier, beat the egg whites and gently incorporate them into the dough.
  • If you want, you can add chocolate shavings or chopped chocolate pieces to the dough.
  • For a creamier frosting, use semisweet chocolate.
