Ingredients
2 cups wheat flour (tea)
1½ cup (tea) sugar
3 eggs
50 g butter at room temperature (about 3 tablespoons)
¾ cup of milk (tea)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup wheat flour (tea)
1 cup (tea) of sugar
1 tablespoon(s) cinnamon powder
4 tablespoons butter at room temperature
4 small bananas
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC (average temperature).
- Grease and dust a 24 cm round cake tin with flour.
- For the dough, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the butter, milk and yeast and mix well.
- Lastly, add the wheat flour and mix until you form a homogeneous dough.
- For the farofa, mix the wheat flour, sugar, cinnamon and butter until it forms a moist farofa.
- For the filling, cut the bananas into slices.
- Place half of the dough in the prepared form.
- Spread the banana slices over the dough.
- Cover with the remaining farofa.
- Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the cuca is golden and the filling is cooked through.
- Let cool and serve.
Notes
- For a wetter cuca, add 1/2 cup (tea) of coconut milk to the dough.
- For a more flavorful dish, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough.
- For a more rustic-looking dish, use a spoon to spread the flour over the dough.
