Below is the basic, simple and easy cookie recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 3/4 cup of milk

  • Frying oil

  • Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, baking powder and pinch of salt.
  • Add the egg and milk to the dry mixture and stir well until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • The consistency of the batter should be similar to pancake batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat to fry the dumplings.
  • With the help of a spoon, take small portions of the dough and place in the hot oil, frying the dumplings in small batches to prevent them from sticking to each other.
  • Let it fry until the dumplings are evenly golden.
  • They should be soft inside.
  • Remove the dumplings from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • If you prefer, while they are still warm, dip the dumplings in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon for a sweet touch.
  • Serve the simple rain cookies still warm and enjoy!
