For your simple banana cake to be just the way you want it, use the ingredients below and follow the step-by-step instructions for making it.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (approximately 300g)

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

  • pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin (can be round or rectangular) with butter or oil and sprinkle with a little flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Peel the bananas and mash them with a fork in a large bowl.
  • Add the eggs and mix well with the mashed bananas.
  • Then add the sugar and oil to the banana and egg mixture.
  • Mix again until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Add the wheat flour little by little, incorporating well into the dough.
  • Add the baking powder, ground cinnamon (if using) and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour the dough into the greased mold and level the surface with a spoon.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
  • The banana cake is ready to be served! 
    You can enjoy it warm or wait for it to cool completely.
