Ingredients
2 cups of sugar
3 eggs
1 cup of milk
1 cup butter or margarine at room temperature
2 and 1/2 cups wheat flour
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1/2 cup granulated chocolate
1/2 cup grated coconut
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.Â
Grease and flour a medium round shape. - In a bowl, mix the wheat flour and baking powder.
- Reserve.
- In another bowl, beat the butter (or margarine) with the sugar until you get a fluffy cream.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk to the dough, beginning and ending with the flour.
- Mix well after each addition.
- Add the granulated chocolate and grated coconut to the dough and stir gently until well distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the tin before unmolding.
- Once cold, you can decorate the cake with a topping of your choice, such as chocolate ganache or brigadeiro.
