Cod with Cream and Potatoes

Ingredients
1 kg of potatoes
500g desalted and shredded codfish
2 medium onions
2 packets of cream (400ml)
4 garlic cloves
4 tablespoons of olive oil
150g grated cheese (preferably gruyere or parmesan)
Salt and pepper to taste
Nutmeg (optional)
Chopped parsley to garnish
Directions
- Start by cooking the potatoes in salted water until soft.
- Then peel and cut them into slices.
Reserve. - Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- In a large pan, heat the oil and add the chopped onions and chopped garlic cloves.
- Sauté until golden.
- Add the shredded codfish to the pan and cook for a few minutes until it is well incorporated into the seasonings.
- Add the cream to the codfish and mix well.
- Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
- Let cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a refractory, place a layer of boiled potatoes and, on top, a layer of cod with cream.
- Repeat the layers until the ingredients are finished, ending with the cod.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese over the cod and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
