Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

  • 1 cup of hot water

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Grease a round mold with butter and sprinkle with cocoa powder to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Make a well in the center of the dry mixture.
  • Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla to the well in the center of the dry mixture.
  • Mix well until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Gradually add hot water to the dough, stirring constantly.
  • The dough will be liquid, but this is normal.
  • Pour the dough into the prepared mold and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving.
