Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
2 cups of wheat flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 cup of hot water
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease a round mold with butter and sprinkle with cocoa powder to prevent the cake from sticking. - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Make a well in the center of the dry mixture.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla to the well in the center of the dry mixture.
- Mix well until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Gradually add hot water to the dough, stirring constantly.
- The dough will be liquid, but this is normal.
- Pour the dough into the prepared mold and place in the preheated oven.
- Bake for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving.
