4 medium potatoes
1/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of butter
Pepper to taste (optional)

- Peel the potatoes and cut them into small, even pieces.
- In a large pot, add the sliced potatoes and cover with cold water.
- Add a pinch of salt to the water.
- Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
- Cook the potatoes until they are tender when pierced with a fork (usually about 15 to 20 minutes).
- While the potatoes are cooking, heat the milk in a small saucepan over low heat until hot (do not boil).
- When the potatoes are cooked, drain them in a colander and return them to the hot pan over low heat.
