Let’s make this American Pancake using the ingredients below and following the step-by-step preparation method.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 tea spoons of baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

  • Vegetable oil (for greasing the frying pan)

  • Topping options: maple syrup, fresh fruit, honey, butter, etc.

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the milk, egg and melted butter until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. 
    Stir well until you form a smooth dough. 
    Don’t worry if there are any lumps left.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease with vegetable oil.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the hot skillet to form each pancake.
  • Cook until bubbles begin to form on the surface of the pancake and the edges are lightly browned, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Carefully flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until cooked through.
  • Transfer the pancake to a plate and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  • Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, honey, butter, etc.
