Choripan

Choripán is a typical Argentine food, it is a sandwich made with a specific type of Argentine chorizo ​​usually grilled and placed inside an Italian bread or ciabatta, usually served with mustard and ketchup. Argentine chorizo ​​is a sausage made with pork and traditional seasonings, it is usually thicker and less spicy than the usual chorizo.

Choripán is a popular dish in Argentina and is commonly served at sporting events and festivals. 
It is a delicious and practical option to eat quickly, and is very popular among Argentines.

Ingredients

  • 2 Argentine sausages

  • 2 ciabatta or Italian breads

  • Mustard and ketchup (optional)

Directions

  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cut the chorizos into pieces about 2 cm long.
  • Grill the chorizos until they are nicely browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Turn them occasionally so they cook evenly.
  • Cut the buns in half and take them to the grill or skillet to toast lightly.
  • Remove the chorizos and buns from the grill and place the chorizos inside the buns.
  • Add mustard and ketchup to taste if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Tip: you can also add other ingredients like lettuce, tomato or onion to customize your Choripán even more.
