hourFajitas are a Mexican dish consisting of strips of meat, usually marinated and grilled, served with wheat tortillas and a choice of filling options, such as grilled vegetables, guacamole, sour cream, grated cheese and salsa.
Ingredients
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 red onion, sliced
1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
1/2 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 clove of minced garlic
500g chicken breast cut into strips
6 wheat tortillas
Grated cheese
Salsa
Sour cream
Guacamole
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, soy sauce, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a large bowl, place the chicken and add the marinade.
- Mix well so that the chicken is well coated.
- Let it rest for at least 30 minutes or up to an hour.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through and golden brown.
- While the chicken is cooking, heat the tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
- In a medium saucepan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes, until soft.
- When the chicken is cooked, add it to the pan with the vegetables and mix well.
- Arrange the chicken and vegetable mixture on each tortilla, add grated cheese and other ingredients of your choice, and roll up like a tortilla.
- Is ready!
