Salpicão is a typical Brazilian dish, usually served as a starter or appetizer. It is made with cooked and shredded chicken, grated carrots, corn, peas, raisins, olives, straw potatoes and mayonnaise.

It is a versatile dish that can be served in many different ways, such as in sandwiches, wraps, salads or even as a main dish.
Ingredients
500 g cooked and shredded chicken breast
2 large grated carrots
1 can of peas
1 can of sweet corn
200 g raisins
1 chopped apple
100 g chopped black olives
80 g straw potatoes
1 cup (200 ml) mayonnaise
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the chicken, carrots, corn, peas, raisins, apple, olives and potato chips.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the mayonnaise and mix well.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a more colorful salpicão, you can add other ingredients, such as green peppers, sliced carrots or white raisins.
If you want a lighter salpicão, you can replace the mayonnaise with plain yogurt.
You can also serve the salpicão with barbecue sauce or tomato sauce.
