The fluffy homemade bread can be served with butter, jam, cream cheese, cold cuts, etc. Check out the step-by-step instructions:

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of wheat flour

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of warm milk (approx. 375 ml)

  • 1/2 cup warm water (approx. 125 ml)

  • 1/2 cup oil (approx. 120 ml)

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 level tablespoon of salt

  • 30 g fresh yeast

Directions

  • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes, or until it starts to foam.
  • Add sugar, salt and oil and mix well.
  • Gradually add the wheat flour, mixing until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).
  • After doubling in volume, divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape into loaves.
  • Place the breads in an oiled pan and let rest for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 200ºC (400ºF).
  • Brush the breads with a beaten egg and bake for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove the breads from the oven and let them cool before serving.
