Down with the law bases: for a fighting plan to defeat Milei’s entire plan
This Wednesday the 12th, the day that the so-called “Bases Law” will be discussed in the Senate, we must be thousands in Congress to prevent it from being sanctioned since it is a norm that directly attacks the popular interests, workers and retirees, the student movement, etc., and deepens the looting of natural common goods and national dependency to unprecedented levels. Despite the declaration of war against the workers that the Milei project implies, the CGT and the CTA do not call for a stop and only call a sector of the Cegetist unions to march. That is why we demand that the union centers call for a general strike during that day so that all and the largest contingents of the labor movement can participate en masse.
Let’s all march to the square of the two Congresses
Although with crises and backroom negotiations of all kinds, the ruling party with the “collaborationist” parties intend to vote on the law in the Senate with full agreement on imposing a Labor and Retirement Reform, new privatizations (Airlines, Correo Aysa, among others), exuberant tax awards and the 30-year plundering guarantee of multinationals with the RIGI. They seek the extension of trial periods for workers, the elimination of fines for companies for unregistered work (companies could maintain unregistered work without any consequences), the elimination of the worker’s possibility of being reinstated by justice in the face of a discriminatory dismissal due to union activity (or any type of discrimination) and ending the compensation regime, the criminalization of struggle measures such as company blockades, the possibility of employers hiring “collaborating” workers outside agreement and without any right, exempt from liability companies that hire outsourced companies as “solidarity” in the face of a worker’s claim, and the end of stability in public employment. They intend to prevent pension moratoriums by condemning 9 out of 10 women to not being able to retire, collecting a poverty benefit at age 65. Also, they agree to vote for greater facilities to promote polluting mega mining, fracking and extractivism, leaving environmental destruction much greater than the current one in favor of multinationals. With the “Bases Law” Milei intends to have full powers delegated by Congress to eliminate state organizations with a single signature or defund them completely, among other disasters.
We have to defeat this attempt to impose repression, persecution and raids on the independent piquetero movement, union organizations and left-wing political organizations. We are not going to allow a blank check to be given to Milei, to a government that is an enemy of the workers and their recovered organizations, of the retirees, of the independent piquetero movement, of the recovered factories under the control of their workers, of women, diversities, people with disabilities, art, culture, science, education and free public health, freedom of expression and thought.
We call on all the people to demonstrate on Wednesday the 12th starting at 9 a.m. by:
• BELOW THE LAW BASES
• FOR THE UNRESTRICTED RIGHT TO PROTEST: NO TO THE REPRESSIVE PROTOCOL
• SUPPORT FOR THE DEMANDS OF RETIRED PEOPLE IN STRUGGLE
• NO TO THE PERSECUTION AND CRIMINALIZATION OF THE PIQUETER, UNION AND LEFT ORGANIZATIONS.
• FOOD NOW FOR ALL POPULAR EATERS
• SUPPORT FOR ALL SECTORS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DISMISSALS AND FOR WAGES
• FIGHT PLAN UNTIL MILEI’S ENTIRE PLAN IS DEFEATED
• OUT THE IMF
