Alejandro Vilca, national deputy for the Left Front/PTS, from Salta sent a message to the mobilization that took place in the City of Buenos Aires in front of the Casa de la Provincia de Salta, denouncing the responsibility of the national government of Milei and Bullrich, together with Governor Sáenz, for the repression of the workers of Orán where Fernando Gómez was murdered.
Below we reproduce the full message:
“Hello, I’m Alejandro Vilca and I wanted to send this audio to everyone who is participating in the march and the event on December 20. I came to bring the support and solidarity of my party, the PTS, the Left Front, to friends, to co-workers, to the family of Fernando Gómez, who was a young man who was brutally murdered by the repression of the Gendarmerie in an operation in the area of Aguas Blancas and Orán, on route 50.
This Gendarmerie operation was brutal, not only did it take the life of this 28-year-old young man, but there are two more young people who are fighting for their lives, one with a shot in the head, another in the stomach and there are several injured.
Once this news of Fernando’s death became known, during the early hours of Wednesday morning thousands of young people came out from the popular neighborhoods surrounding the route, where they vented all their anger, their hatred on the nearest gendarmerie post, the 28, where clashes were recorded throughout the night, the early morning, the morning, until later, in a show of force, the Sáenz government sent the Prefecture, the Federal Police, the provincial police to regain control of the route.
The incidents continued, people advanced on the route, took it up again, making the Gendarmerie retreat several times. The police and special groups tried to enter the surrounding neighborhoods, where young people were grouped corner by corner to throw them into the infantry corps of the provincial police.
The truth is that it was an intense day, which showed a true population of precarious sectors such as the bagayeros, the chancheros, as they call them, who are workers who transport merchandise from the border to Argentina, many of them precarious, who do not have another source of work and that the security force with these operations tries to intimidate, or as Patricia Bullrich says, who accuses them that they are all drug traffickers. A brutal lie, but they try to justify it with this operation of the Güemes plan that the government of Sáenz, a friend of Sergio Massa, signed along with Patricia Bullrich, to supposedly combat drug trafficking.
The truth is that what we experienced were very tense moments, but with a lot of anger, even though the situation is calmer now. Yesterday, where the remains of Fernando Gómez were taken to the cemetery, *the hearse accompanied by more than 500 young people, shouting for justice,* denouncing Governor Sáenz and Patricia Bullrich as a murderer, with much anger they swore that this is not going to stay like this, they are going to go to the last consequences to ask for justice. I send this audio because this fact is important, not only because it is the first death of the Milei government, but also because it shows heroism and resistance to the repressive policies of the government of Javier Milei and Patricia Bullrich, but also because of how one has to confront this government.
That strength and heroism displayed throughout the day shows on a day as special as this December 20 that reminds us when thousands came out to confront the government of Fernando de la Rúa. Today the events in Oran show that the resistance against this government begins from within and especially from the most precarious sectors that, as we saw, are not willing to be pushed into poverty, misery and even less willing to give up their lives due to police repression. and let yourself be intimidated. That is why I am sending this audio, so that they can disseminate and above all help us seek justice and make this heroic fight that the precarious young people from here in the north of Salta are making known. A big hug.”
