The Lustramax workers staged a day of struggle this morning with a rally and cut in the vicinity of the plant located on 4545 Unidos Street, in the Tortuguitas Industrial Park, Malvinas Argentinas district.
The measure is a result of the company moving forward this Monday with 15 layoffs, including delegates and activists. Consequently, the workers carried out a total stoppage of activities and a stay inside the plant.

After the forcefulness of the strike and the public repercussion of the conflict, the company would have escalated the attack, notifying the illegal dismissal of union delegates who have union privileges, within the framework of a democratically voted measure of struggle. They also denounced the presence of members of the DDI and the Buenos Aires Police as part of the intimidation tasks.
The workers indicated that the layoffs are part of an employer plan to eliminate a total of 29 jobs, despite the validity of a Crisis Preventive Process (PPC), which prohibits layoffs while it is in process.
They question the legality of the PPC presented by the company and assure that there is no economic crisis that justifies the layoffs. As they explained, in this file Lustramax shows significant profits in recent years, which reinforces the complaint that it is a maneuver to advance against the internal organization.
“If they touch one, they touch us all. We cannot allow them to leave families on the street or to advance against our rights,” expressed the workers, who continue to call for solidarity from other workers, union, student, human rights organizations and the community in general, in defense of jobs and against illegal dismissals.
