‘Wonderful Secret’: Understand Trump’s relationship and accused of sexual abuse of minors

Letter from Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, revealed by newspaper, exposes proximity between the two; Former President reacts with attacks

United States President Donald Trump faces an internal crisis. Part of its supporters burned red caps of the Make America Great Again movement (Make the US Greater again in free translation) in protest to breach a campaign promise: disseminating investigation documents against businessman Jeffrey Epstein, accused of a series of sexual crimes, including minors.

The indignation of the supporters comes from a bombastic revelation of the Wall Street Journal, last Thursday (17): a letter that shows the relationship of proximity between the two. Trump’s response came in the form of an attack on social networks: against the newspaper, which, he said, published lies, and against his voters who questioned him, which he defined as “ex-scopers” and “fracotes.”

But the beginning of the crisis was on June 5, when the former Trump and government member Elon Musk published on his X (former Twitter), which Donald Trump would be part of the “Epstein list”, a possible record-related document related to Jeffrey Epstein in his minor sexual abuse scheme: “Time to release the real bomb: @realdonaldtrump is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files is in the files Epstein. This is the real reason why they were not made public. [Donald J. Trump]! ”Wrote Musk, in a publication that would be erased shortly thereafter. The complaint, presented without proof, occurred amidst a climb of accusations on social networks between the president and his former right rack.

Jeffrey Epstein is an infamous name in the United States. Close to influential people, he was a multimillionaire investor who won the newspaper pages in 2005 when he was accused of minors sexual abuse in Florida. In 2008, he was sentenced to arrest by the state, after confessing that he requested prostitution of minors, in an agreement that delivered him from any other federal investigation. After 13 months of semi -open regime, he would be in freedom ten years, being arrested again in 2019 – this time on charges of sexual trafficking of minors. In August 2019, he dies in his cell at the Metropolitan Correction Center in New York.

The lawsuits have gathered what is difficult to achieve from a person with Epstein’s power and influence: evidence. Throughout the processes, records of travel, photos, contact schedules, testimonials and emails involving the financier, their friends and associates were attached. These documents make up the “Epstein files” cited by Musk and who put the Trump administration on the strings this week.

Part of the documents were obtained in a lawsuit filed in 2015 by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s main victims, against Ghislaine Maxwell, his accomplice, arrested for assisting Epstein in his sex trafficking scheme. The files were confidential until 2024, when they were revealed.

They include mentions of nearly 200 people, involving the names of Epstein’s abuse network, witnesses, such as employees and pilots of the investor’s aircraft, business partners and members of his social circle, as well as people accused of participating in minors prostitution crimes, minor sexual trafficking and sexual abuse.

Names such as Prince Andrew, a member of the British royal family, accused of Virginia Diuffre’s sexual abuse, and participation in Epstein, former US president involved in sex scandals during his term, Bill Clinton, and Epstein’s neighbor in Florida, Donald Trump.

The documents are not part of a single base, and were not published in full. This is the main criticism of Trump’s political opponents and, more recently, their own political base.

In his 2024 reelection campaign, Trump stated that, if elected, he would disclose in full all the “Epstein archives” obtained by the court. After being elected, he tried to dissuade his base, saying that part of his supporters was deceived by the “Lunatic Left” for eight years, that they “have not learned the lesson, and will probably never learn” and that “these weaknesses” are doing the work of the Democrats.

Trump and Epstein’s ‘Wonderful Secret’

Trump climbed the tone against supporters after the Wall Street Journal made a letter written by President to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003 last Thursday (17). The content of the document was first made public.

The letter, described by the vehicle as “Obscene”, is part of a book set up in 2003 by Gislaine Maxhwell and given Epstein as a 50th anniversary gift. Trump’s statement appears along with photos, letters and cards from other friends and associates of the investor.

The newspaper did not publish images of the document, but described it. According to the report, the message is written inside a drawing, apparently handmade with a canetão, from a woman’s body. The text portrays a conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person. Read below, in free translation:

Trump would have signed, says Wall Street Journal, with a “Donald” written below the woman’s waist in the drawing, mimicking her pubic hair.

The revelation made Trump start a crusade against the newspaper. Heard by journalists before the report air, Trump said he never written the letter and that the story was lying. “This is not me. This is a lie. It’s a fake report from the Wall Street Journal. I never made a drawing in my life. I don’t draw women. It’s not my language, it’s not my words, it’s not me,” he said. He also warned that if the text went aired, “would process the Wall Street Journal as everyone sued.”

After the publication of the article, Trump went to social networks, reinforcing his threat of process and accusing the content of being a liar. “Wall Street Journal published a fake letter, supposedly to Epstein. These are not my words, it’s not my way of talking. Besides, I don’t draw. This is not the first time Trump has been pointed out in Epstein’s intimate circle. More than once, Trump and Epstein were photographed together, including their companions, in Mar-Lago, the president’s resort in Florida. Trump supporters claim that Epstein only had access to the president’s properties until 2007, when the investor, in the wake of his first criminal accusation, was banned from the spaces.

There is no evidence of banishment, but the records of the two together also cease at this time. In 2019, Trump said at a press conference that he banned Epstein from Mar-lag, but “reason frankly makes no difference.”

Like other celebrities, Trump also used to hitchhike on Epstein’s private plane, named “Lolita Express.” Trump’s name is found in several flight records between Florida, where both had houses, and New York, Trump’s business administrative headquarters during the 90s.

The aircraft was also used for flights to the American virgin islands, where Epstein had a private island pointed as a space of sexual abuse of minors. Records involving Trump and the island have never been released.

In the 2024 election campaign, Trump used a jet that had already been from Epstein to fulfill agendas in four different states after his own plane was flawed in the engine. The Republican campaign said it had chartered the aircraft of a company in the sector and not knowing who he previously belonged to.

‘No additional disclosure would be appropriate or justified’

In February 2025, Trump indicated Pamela Bondi as the US Attorney General-and head of the country’s Justice Department. At the end of the same month, the agency published, in a ceremony with far-right influencers, the “phase 1” of the “Epstein” files.

With no news about what had already been released over the years, Bondi has blamed the FBI, the United States federal investigation body, for retaining information. At the time, Kash Patel, FBI’s director, said that “there will be no cover -up, no lost document and nothing will be investigated.”

The promise lasted until July 7, when the Justice Department and the FBI published a document saying that, “after exhaustive review,” “no reason were found to revisit the disclosure” of the materials.

The bodies claim that they were not found relationships with people to justify the disclosure of documents and that this could weaken Epstein victims. “It is the determination of the Department of Justice and the FBI that no additional disclosure would be appropriate or justified,” summarizes the document.

Pressured by the Wall Street Journal report, Trump published on his social networks on Thursday (17) to have asked the Department of Justice to publicize “all relevant testimonials” provided to the Great Jury-similar to the popular jury in Brazil-on the case.
