Things have not been going well for Bitcoin (BTC) in recent days. After reaching a new all-time high (ATH), the digital currency is in a persistent negative trend. Over the past 24 hours, the stock has fallen nearly 2% and is currently trading around $93,400. This raises important questions: why does Bitcoin continue to decline in value, and is there a chance of a trend reversal?

Historically strong quarters and temporary cooling

Historically, the fourth quarter is known as a strong period for Bitcoin and altcoins. This is in line with the known cycles of the crypto market, especially after a halving. The most recent halving took place in 2024, and as in previous halving years (2012, 2016 and 2020), a period of consolidation after a major rally is not uncommon.

Earlier this year, Bitcoin reached a value of around $57,000 in the summer. A temporary correction, such as the current decline, can be seen as a natural cooldown after such an impressive rise.

External factors depress the price

External factors also play a crucial role in recent price developments. Janet Yellen, the US Treasury Secretary, recently warned that the United States could reach the debt ceiling by mid-January. If this point is reached, the US government will have to choose between several measures, such as reducing government spending or increasing revenues.

In many cases, however, the government chooses to print extra money. This could put pressure on the value of the US dollar, which in turn could be positive for Bitcoin. Historically, periods of monetary easing have often led to a rise in the value of BTC.

Outlook for 2025: an optimistic view?

Although 2024 seems to end with a disappointing price drop, 2025 offers new opportunities. Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, expects Bitcoin to reach $350,000 by 2025. If this prediction comes true, it would represent an upside of approximately 275% from the current price.

In addition to Bitcoin, Kiyosaki also sees gold and silver as interesting assets to preserve value. These traditional safe havens remain an attractive option for investors looking to protect themselves against economic uncertainties.
