What would XRP be worth if the market cap were $1 trillion?

The price of XRP, like the rest of the crypto market, has fallen dramatically. On July 31, the digital coin reached a local peak of $0.65, after which it fell by more than 30%.

While its short-term performance has been disappointing, XRP’s promise and potential remain enormous. XRP’s goal is to facilitate fast, cheap, and scalable cross-border payments, tapping into a massive market. If the project succeeds in realizing this potential, it could reach an impressive market cap.

XRP’s Growth to $1 Trillion Market Cap?

At the time of writing, XRP’s total market cap stands at nearly $25.5 billion. Earlier this year, Chase, who runs the Bitcoin Express YouTube channel, discussed the possibility of XRP reaching a $1 trillion market cap if, say, the cryptocurrency sees widespread adoption.

To achieve such a market cap, growth of over 3,825% would be needed and would take XRP’s price to around $18, pushing it well past its all-time high (ATH) of $3.40, which the project reached in 2018.

If this prediction comes true, XRP would become the second-largest crypto project. It would be nearly three times the size of its competitor Ethereum (ETH), which has a market cap of nearly $268 billion at the time of writing. Bitcoin (BTC) would still remain in the lead, with a total valuation of nearly $1 trillion.

Ripple vs SEC Lawsuit Ruling as Catalyst

A potential catalyst for the digital currency XRP is a positive ruling or settlement in the lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While a final conclusion seems imminent, a recently scheduled meeting has been canceled again.

Many had hoped that the meeting would discuss a settlement in the nearly four-year legal battle. Rumors suggested that the meeting would specifically focus on Ripple, but this turned out not to be the case.
