The shares of Circle increased by more than 10 percent on Wednesday after the company announced that its Stablecoin USDC has been integrated into both the Brazilian banking system via Matera and on World Chain, the blockchain project of Sam Altman.

USDC ready for daily use in Brazil

Circle’s collaboration with Matera must enable Brazilian banks to offer bills in multiple currencies. Via Matera’s Real -time Ledger, Digital Twin, banks will soon be able to hold USDC alongside Brazilian Reals and American dollars. According to Matera, no complex infrastructure is needed to make that possible.

The system will also be linked to local payment networks, including PIX, the real -time payment system of the Brazilian central bank. This way USDC becomes immediately usable for payments and transfers in the country.

“Interoperability between Stablecoins and local currency is no longer a side issue, it is now central to the financial system,” said Matera CEO Carlos Netto. “This changes everything for banks and fintechs that want to operate worldwide with almost direct settlement and low costs.”

USDC now officially at World Chain

USDC is now also native available on World Chain, Sam Altman’s network. From now on the Circle will publish the coin itself instead of a detour.

World Chain uses a controversial identification method via an ‘ORB’ to give users access to the network. According to the company, the technology would have already attracted 27 million users. USDC is used for money transfers and payments via apps on the platform.

The combination of both announcements immediately caused a significant rise in Circle’s stock price. The share closed yesterday on just under 117 dollars, more than 10 percent higher than a day earlier.

Circle was officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on 5 June with an opening price of 31 dollars and closed that day at 82 dollars, an increase of no less than 167 percent. In total, the share has already increased by almost 280 percent.
