The US and Israel’s response – accusing proponents of “rewarding Hamas” – is a curtain of cynical smoke. The real goal is to sabotage a historical diplomatic advance and prevent the Palestine cause from gaining a legitimate victory in the world scenario. Silencing Mahmud Abbas and its 80 employees is a desperate attempt to empty Palestine’s chair so that the occupation narrative can continue without counterpoint.

While this diplomatic dispute unfolds in air -conditioned offices, the reality in Gaza is of fire and death.
