The demonstration of support for Israeli genocide in Gaza coincided with Trump’s announcement that Netanyahu will return to the US capital ‘in the not too distant future’

The US senators voted for 82-15 and 83-15 on April 3 to reject two disapproval resolutions related to huge weapons transfers and other Military Assistance from Washington to Israel.

The resolutions were offered by Senator Bernie Sanders, from Vermont, and received the support of only 15 of the 45th Democrats in the Senate.

“The United States must end our complicity in these atrocities, we can no longer be part of that,” Sanders said in a video he released on Wednesday.

Sanders has presented four resolutions since January 2024 to end or freeze US arms transfers to Israel, with none of them undergoing a vote in the Senate plenary. His latest effort sought to cancel sales proposed by the White House of $ 8.8 billion in bombs and other ammunition for Israel.

Since taking office in January, US President Donald Trump has given a green light for weapons agreements of about $ 20 billion to Israel.

Thursday’s vote in the Senate coincided with Trump’s announcement that Israeli Prime Minister and War Criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, will arrive in the country soon.

“I think it will come to the country at some point in the not so distant future. Maybe next week,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

Netanyahu’s office reported earlier this day that he spoke to Trump alongside Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who removed his country from the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a way of welcoming Israeli Prime Minister.

Founding member of the ICC, Hungary became the first EU country to withdraw from the Court in support of the Israeli Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

During a joint press conference with Netanyahu, Orban stated that the ICC became a “political court.”

“It’s important for all democracies. It’s important to face this corrupt organization,” said Netanyahu.
