The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) called on Friday (8) the business in charge of the US embassy, Gabriel Escobar, about the note published by the agency profile on social networks making threats to ministers of the Supreme Court (STF).
Ambassador Flávio Goldman, who is interimly occupying the Secretariat of Europe and North America charged Escobar on aggressive grade content and the statement that the US government is “closely monitoring” the other Supreme Court (STF) ministers who “follow the same steps as Alexandre de Moraes”.
Last week, Donald Trump’s government included Minister Alexandre de Moraes on the list of sanctions with magnitsky law, created to punish foreigners who violated human rights or were accused of corruption. According to the US President, the action was made to punish “human rights violations” in conducting the process in the STF that investigates Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for a coup attempt.
This is not the first time Escobar has been summoned at Itamaraty to explain the Brazilian government. This is the third time this has been the case since Donald Trump’s actions have deteriorated the US relationship with Brazil.
