From September 2 to 6, the thirteen faculties of the University of Buenos Aires elected Student Centers and Boards of Directors. In some educational institutions, Student Boards were also elected. Follow all the news on La Izquierda Diario.

This week, voting took place in the thirteen faculties of the UBA: Law, Economics, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry. Also in Medicine, Social Sciences, Philosophy and Letters, Psychology, Exact Sciences and FADU. In this note we will publish all the results as they become known.

These elections were contested for the leadership of student centres, as well as for the boards of directors. In some faculties, the career boards were also contested.

These are the first elections at the University of Buenos Aires under the government of Javier Milei, a few months after the massive mobilization of April 23 and while universities are undergoing a strong adjustment, which includes a significant salary arrears.

This quarter started with a strike by teachers and non-teaching staff and the university budget is being discussed in Congress. The perspectives of the student movement to defend public education are being debated.
