During a round business table at Qatar on Thursday, May 16, President Donald Trump once again suggested taking the US Gaza as a way of trying to rebuild Palestinian territory.
“I think it would be proud if the United States had, conquer it, transform it into a zone of freedom. Let some good things happen, put people into homes where they can get safe, and Hamas will have to be faced,” Trump said during the Round Table with Catar authorities in the presence of reporters.
He continued, “I have ideas for Gaza that I consider very good. Make it a freedom zone, let the United States get involved.”
According to CNN, the US president added: “They have never solved the Gaza problem and, if you observe, I have aerial images, I mean, there are hardly no buildings, there are no buildings. People are living under the rubble of buildings that have collapsed, which is unacceptable, is a tremendous death. And I want it to become an zone of freedom.”
Trump’s comments came from reports from several air attacks by hitting the city of Khan Youis in Gaza on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, on Friday, during the last day of his trip to the Middle East, Trump again discussed Gaza. He would have told reporters in Abu Dhabi: “We are watching Gaza. And let’s take care of it. Many people are starving.”
This is not the first time the president has been presenting ideas about the future of Gaza, which is currently governed by Hamas.
In January, while talking to reporters in Air Force Um, Trump said he wanted Jordan and Egypt to host the Palestinians, suggesting a “cleaning” of the Gaza Strip.
“We’re probably talking about a million and a half of people, and we just cleaned everything,” said Trump. “I don’t know. Something needs to happen, but now it is literally a construction site in demolition.” The idea caused a strong rebuke from the Arab countries.

When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House in February, Trump once again shared his vision to the devastated place by war. “The US will take control of the Gaza Strip. We will do a job with her. We will assume it and will be responsible for dismantling all dangerous bombs and other weapons,” he said.
“We will level the area, create economic development that will provide unlimited number of jobs and houses for people in the area.”
When asked what authority would allow the US to perform this idea, and if he was talking about a “permanent occupation” there, Trump replied, “I see a long -term property position and see that this will bring great stability to that part of the Middle East and perhaps to the whole Middle East.”
Trump continued to say that “it was not a decision made of light mood” and said that “everyone with whom I talked about love the idea that the United States has that piece of land.”
Alongside Trump, Netanyahu said one of Israel’s main goals was “to ensure that Gaza never represents a threat to Israel,” adding that Trump’s offer would lead this goal “at a much higher level.”
“I think it’s worth paying attention to it,” concluded Netanyahu.
Later, in February, President Trump shared a video of IA on his Truthsocial social media platform portraying “Trump Gaza.” The video included images generated by AI of a golden statue of US president in Gaza, luxury cars and skyscrapers in a rebuilt track. The clip attracted harsh criticism from the Palestinians in Gaza.
