The US has sunk “a ship from Venezuela” in international waters that it accuses of carrying drugs. And 11 people have died in the attack. This has been announced by US President Donald Trump, in an appearance in the White House and his social networks. “This early morning, under my orders, the United States armed forces carried out an attack against a narcoterrorist from the Aragua train [TDA] identified in the area of responsibility of the Southcom [Comando Sur de EEUU]”, Said US president in Truth Social, where he has published a video of the attack – an extrajudicial execution – in which neither the origin of the ship is accredited, nor its owners nor the supposed load of narcotics.
“The ADD is an entity designated as a foreign terrorist organization, which operates under the control of Nicolás Maduro and is responsible for mass murders, drug trafficking, sex trafficking and acts of violence and terrorism throughout the United States and the Western hemisphere,” said Trump.
And he added: “The attack occurred while the terrorists were in international waters transporting illegal narcotics to the United States. The attack caused the death of 11 terrorists. No member of the United States armed forces was injured. This serves as a warning to anyone who is thinking of introducing drugs into the US.”
For his part, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, said: “As President Trump has just announced,” said Rubio, “the US army has carried out a lethal attack in the south of the Caribbean against a drug trafficker ship that had sailed from Venezuela and was operated by an organization designated as a narcoterrorist.”
Trump, in an appearance in the White House, the first after a week without appearing before the media, had announced that the US Army had “shot dead” and “eliminated” a ship that transported drugs and that had left Venezuelan port.
“We have a lot of drugs entering our country, which have been entering for a long time, and we have just discovered that they come from Venezuela, and that they leave in large quantities of Venezuela,” said Trump: “So we have eliminated it.”
The attack on this ship is related to the deployment that Trump activated a few days ago in international waters against Venezuela.
The operation implies the deployment of more than 4,000 marines, three destroyers or a nuclear propulsion submarine with the aim of combating the flow of narcotics that, according to the US, originates in the region.
The deployment has been a hard conviction by the administration of Nicolás Maduro, which has accused the US of being trying to force a change of government in Caracas and Rubio himself being inciting a military attack on Venezuelan territory, Efe reports.
