The survey, carried out one year before the 2026 legislative elections, indicates growth of popular dissatisfaction with the republican government.
Trump’s disapproval has reached 63%surpassing the previous record of 62% recorded when he left the White House in January 2021. The drop has been observed since the beginning of the year, despite small variations between different research institutes.
Widespread fall and electoral impact
The average of polls compiled by CNN shows the president with 41% approvalbut the tendency is to steady decline since June across all partisan and demographic groups. Negative ratings increased among Democrats, independents and, to a lesser extent, Republicans.
The electoral scenario reflects this wear and tear. If legislative elections were held today, 47% of voters would vote for Democratic candidatescontra 42% who would choose Republicans.
