The fight against dismissals in Fate has a new episode. After their workers cut on Monday the crossing of Márquez Avenue with the Pan -American Highway, workers and student organizations approached this Tuesday night at the gates of this tire factory, located in San Fernando, to carry its solidarity.
The call brought together members of the Madygragra factory, the groups embroidered (food union) and Brown (Suteba), dismissed by Volkswagen and Pilkington, university students in the northern zone (in red code) and secondary organized in the will not pass, as well as workers of the Movement of Classist Groups (Mac). Everyone present shared the same goal: to demonstrate to workers that they are not alone and that there are strength to fight the attacks of the employer.
The conflict in the factory owned by the billionaire Madanes Quintanilla began this Saturday morning when five operators were dismissed. This action was carried out after last week the company threatened to dismiss workers who did not sign a change in the work system, which flexible their working conditions.
This situation, where telegrams were delivered to the dismissed when they arrived at the plant, triggered a strike of activities. The workers withdrew from their jobs and, since that day, they have maintained force measures.
The tire producer advanced these days with the disconnects, which are already counted by tens and include union activists such as Hernán Minguez, belonging to the Granate group.
The conflict occurs in a context where companies in the sector refuse to give salary increases according to inflation and to discuss an update of the end of the year bonus. They have also held a dismissal policy that 1400 operators have left on the street in the three major brands: Pirelli, Bridgestone and Fate. They also drive undercover dismissals through squeezes and threats.
This plan is developed thanks to the policies of the Government of Milei, which gives free way for these signatures to pass over labor rights. Freezing wages, more flexible the collective work agreement and fire workers is the strategy to continue increasing their profits.
The labor answer was immediate. In an assembly held on Monday at the San Fernando Sectional Hall of the Tire Union (Sutna), the workers voted a strike until Tuesday at 6 in the morning and resume it on Thursday at the same time, extending it until Friday. They also said to mobilize Márquez and Panamericana to demand the return of all the fired and that cease the squeezes, as well as defend the work The purchasing power.
Together with the brown and red list, the Garnet group argues that the driving of the Sutna, under Alejandro Crespo and the blacklist, must resume the historical methods of FATE workers: the organization in assemblies where all the workers discuss and vote for a struggle plan to defeat Madannes Quintanilla. Sebastián Tesoro, a member of this group and member of the Movement of Classist Groups, said for this medium that they refuse to be “dismissed in the streets or slaves within the factory” and stressed the importance of solidarity to resist.
“Therefore, we appreciate from the Garnet group all the solidarity that was present at the Fate doors. Thanks to the classmates of the different universities, Center for Students of Secondary Schools and Workers of different factories. That is the force we need: to be in the streets with the coordination and with the unity of all the workers and workers,” Treasure concluded.
