Bonfante argued that the problem is not the departure of the young people of politics, but that “traditional policy no longer knows how to challenge them.” He criticized the classic parties to continue talking with a language and logic increasingly alien to people’s daily reality. “The university mobilizations, the march of February 1 after Milei’s sayings in Davos, were full of young people. What there is is a growing polarization,” he explained.

The student leader also denounced the progress of youth indebtedness, multi -employment and labor precariousness as part of a scenario that generates discomfort and threatens any future perspective. “There are teachers 15 years old charging $ 150,000. There is an attack on the idea of the future,” he said.

Bonfante also highlighted the impact that social networks have to generate global awareness among young people. He talked about the conflict in Gaza and his trip to Egypt, where he met young people from all over the world mobilized by the Palestinian cause. “There is an international youth movement that is moved and organized in the face of injustices. National policy cannot be locked in domestic.”

In that sense, he linked the Argentine situation with global processes, such as the interference of the US in the region. “From the agreement with the IMF in 2018, there is a loss of economic sovereignty. And now also political: we saw it with the ruling against Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. I do not be part of his political space, but we were in the square because what happens in the world is also played here,” he concluded.
