Deputies of the Left Front demanded that the National Executive Branch, “through the Ministry of National Security, the Internal Security Council, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers and any other competent body,” provide verbal reports before the Lower House on various issues linked to the repression of the Argentine National Gendarmerie, in the early hours of December 18, where the young Fernando Gómez was murdered by said forces, while other people were seriously injured and two of They continue fighting for their lives.

Faced with what they describe as a State crime, the deputies of the left ask that they be informed, in particular, what were the directives given by the Ministry of Security to the National Gendarmerie to carry out the operation; who issued the order to repress, planned the operation and directed its execution. They also request that the cost of the operation be specified, the number of personnel involved, the weapons and equipment used during that operation and what was the report presented after the repression by the National Director of the National Gendarmerie.

Let us remember that the repression, which took place on National Route 50, in the vicinity of the so-called Post 28 of the National Gendarmerie, in the Department of Orán, province of Salta, made Fernando Gómez the first death of the government of Javier Milei, in a a fact that was publicly claimed by the governor of the province, Gustavo Saenz, as well as by Minister Patricia Bullrich, who described the brutal attack on humble young people who were working informally, transporting merchandise across the border between Salta and Bolivia, as “drug traffickers”, thus justifying their reprehensible actions and seeking to hide, in this way, the state crime committed under their direct responsibility.

“As colleagues and relatives of the murdered young man denounce, the gendarmes shot with firearms, to kill, in response to the demand of the so-called bagayeros for the confiscation of their merchandise. The murder also unleashed a real riot in Aguas Blancas, the Salta town closest to the border. Fernando’s burial in Oran was accompanied by a procession of hundreds of people demanding justice,” says the project that bears the signatures of Alejandro Vilca, Nicolás del Caño, Christian Castillo (PTS/FIT), Mónica Schlottahuer (IS/FIT) and Vanina Biasi (PO/FIT) .

The text – which we reproduce below – states that the authorities of the National Executive Branch and in particular Minister Patricia Bullrich, who during her time in the same ministry during the government of Mauricio Macri was responsible for the deaths of Santiago Maldonado and Rafael Nahuel, Those he accused of being “terrorists,” and who also recently accused the 33 detained during the demonstration against the Bases Law of preparing “a coup d’état,” must give explanations for these events.

“This whole year we have seen how the adjustment has been sustained based on repression and the persecution and criminalization of those who fight, as they are doing with the piquetero movement. During the repression of the first treatment of the Bases Law, the rubber bullets of the Federal Police caused our fellow Ceprodh lawyer Matías Aufieri to lose an eye, among hundreds of others injured by this repressive action. Now in Salta the National Gendarmerie directly used lead bullets, murdering Fernando and injuring informal workers, two of whom continue fighting for their lives,” they say.

In order for there to be justice for Fernando, this state crime cannot go unpunished and those materially and politically responsible must be tried and convicted.

As part of the momentum of a great campaign, which will continue with various initiatives in the coming days, seeking the broadest unity to unmask this State crime and strengthen the demand for justice, the deputies of the left demand that Congress treat and approve the project presented, which requests that the ministry authorities be summoned immediately to provide explanations.
