The evolution of fire, community by community

The wave of fires that has affects Spain for days does not give truce and continues to spread. The maximum concern is still focused especially in Castilla y León, where two volunteers have died as a result of the burns suffered, and in the province of Ourense, to which a fire is added in Jarilla (Cáceres) that remains uncontrolled. Another 50 -year -old man died on Tuesday in three songs because of the fire. Spain on Thursday night requested a module with two high capacity tank aircraft of more than 5,500 liters each to combat fires in “very difficult” situations that could be derived from the adverse meteorology.

Castilla y León

One of the main foci is in Castilla y León, where there are at least 15 active fires – 12 of them in the Leon province – and with more than 8,000 evacuated in León. There are also two deceased: Abel Ramos, a 35 -year -old man who participated as a volunteer in the work of extinction, and Jaime, 37 and friend of the first. 10 people have also been injured, four of them in critical condition.

The fires that worry most are those of Molezuelas, in Zamora; that of Resoba, in Palencia; and Yeres, in León. The latter is the fire that has completely razed the natural space of the medulla. Zamora’s is already the worst fire in the history of Spain since 1968, the year in which official statistics begin.

In turn, the other important fire of the province of Zamora, that of Puerques, has changed direction due to the strong wind and is now heading northwest towards the Sierra de la Culebra. The Civil Guard has arrested a man accused of starting this fire, who has burned more than 4,000 hectares. In the province of Salamanca, a level 1 fire has been declared in San Cristóbal de los Mochuelos and is controlled from 5 pm on Wednesday the declared in La Bastida.

Galicia

Eleven fires remain active in Galicia. The wave of non -control fires that ravages the community advances with more than 22,000 hectares razed only in the province of Ourense and leaves evacuations due to threat to houses, confinements and several injured. The largest fire is declared in Chandrexa de Queixa, which has already razed 9,500 hectares and which keeps the maximum emergency situation declared at the provincial level. Estremadura

Castilla-La Mancha

The favorable evolution of the fires allowed the preventive measures for Navalmolalejo, La Estrella and Calera and Chozas to lift Wednesday.

The forest fire that affected the town of Calera y Chozas has already been controlled, while the forest fire declared Monday in Navalmolalejo, in Toledo, has burned 3,250 hectares, 75% of them however in the province of Cáceres. The fire has finally been extinguished early this Thursday.

Asturias

Asturias has registered ten active fires until Wednesday, three of them in the Council of Cangas del Narcea, which has been the most important focus. Valencian Community

The Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat Valenciana has requested the intervention of the Military Emergency Unit in the Forest Fire that has been declared on Wednesday afternoon in the municipality of Teresa de Cofrentes (Valencia) after the impact of lightning. In addition, two districts have been evicted by caution: that of El Gason and another close to the Argonge Rambla. Community of Madrid

Andalusia

The two fires declared in Andalusia – the rate in Cádiz and that of Jabugo in Huelva – have been controlled.
