The Community of Madrid said that the villa that enjoys Ayuso would allocate to the protection of nature

The preservation of the environment has served the dessert to the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to have a public villa in which to spend a private weekend with her family. Because the presiding government was able to take the farm and the chalet in which he spent a few days when invoking his right to acquire the land and housing – although there was already a sale agreement between individuals – whenever it was to protect nature.

The executive directed by Isabel Díaz Ayuso gave the green light to the operation of 4.3 million euros arguing that his Ministry of Environment considered that “given the characteristics of the land (…) it is convenient to proceed to the exercise of the right of preferential acquisition for its incorporation into the heritage of the Community of Madrid,” according to the Government Agreement of October 4, 2023, which has been accessed.

Díaz Ayuso took advantage of the villa with a pool raised in that field this July to make a private use of the house. Although a video of the real estate company that marketed the property shows a property of several plants and suite, when asked about the use that the president had given, the Community of Madrid described the property as “very modest.”

This Monday, Ayuso himself has justified that he spent “two days with the home tupper” and then add: “I pay my vacation, I pay my plane tickets, I pay my restaurants. And my house paid me.”

Consulted by this means the regional government of Andalusia, Aragon, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Valencian Community, Euskadi, Galicia, Balears, La Rioja and Murcia, in no case its presidents or presidents spend days of rest or weekends in official buildings of any kind.

The characteristics of the agreement of the Governing Council refer to “a territory with high natural, cultural and landscape values that are a consequence of the natural evolution of its forest resources during the last decades,” according to the environment valuation report.

With this decision of the Ayuso Executive, the sale that had already been agreed by the then owner of the land and buildings and a buying company was paralyzed, according to the file of the agreement. The agreed price was those 4.3 million euros. The Nature Protection Law of the Community of Madrid allows this to meet the environmental protection objectives of that norm.

Moreover, the General Directorate of Biodiversity and Forest Management affirms in a report incorporated into the file that the houses and the villa “will be allocated to the service of the mountain in which they are located,” that is, the mountain that is bought due to its natural values and to meet the objectives of the Nature Protection Law. That, adds the report, makes “the constructions and infrastructure are considerate of the mount.”

Now, also to “spend the night”

Because it is the environmental motifs that give the Executive of the Community of Madrid the ability to be done through this procedure with private mountains although they have already been committed to a third party in the event that they exceed 250 hectares (as happened with this farm) or have been declared protective mountains, that is, highlighted for their importance for the conservation of the environment. And the land on which the house that Ayuso used privately was declared Monte Protector in 1935, illustrates the government agreement.

To justify the application of the law of the Community of Madrid to paralyze the sale of the farm and take it, the Ministry of Environment prepared a report that concludes that “it is an opportunity for the Community of Madrid to be able to acquire a large property that is adjacent to the National Park of the Sierra de Guadarrama, included within its peripheral area of protection”. And he finishes that these lands could, “in the future, serve as a basis to carry out an extension procedure of the National Park of the Sierra de Guadarrama, which would mean a milestone for the nature of the nature of the nature of the Community of Madrid.”

Now the Minister of Environment of the Community of Madrid, Carlos Novillo, said that “because of the characteristics it has and that it does not have any other adequate public use” will serve to hold meetings by the Executive or the Ministry. “Also, obviously, it can be used as the night of those members of the Government who can,” he added although people who have been able to see the building inside say that to fulfill that function, it would need modifications because currently this council as a house, that is, “with rooms, kitchen and rooms.”
