Strategy has again placed a strong bet on Bitcoin (BTC) in 2025. Despite a volatile stock market year, Michael Saylor’s company significantly expanded its position.
Total Bitcoin holdings rose to a new record, cementing Strategy’s status as the largest publicly traded BTC investor. But exactly how much did the company buy this year?
Bitcoin purchases continued throughout the year
On January 1, 2025, the counter stood at 554,000 BTC. But over the course of the year, Strategy made several major Bitcoin purchases. A lot was purchased, especially in the first half of the year, and the total stock continued to grow steadily. At the end of June, halfway through the year, the total holdings stood at around 597,325 BTC.
But Strategy also remained active in the second half of the year. Between July and December 2025, the company is estimated to have purchased approximately 75,000 to 80,000 Bitcoin. Most of this took place in November and December.
For example, in early December, the company reported two separate large purchases of 10,624 BTC and 10,645 BTC respectively. At the beginning of that month, the total supply already increased to 660,000 BTC. These two purchases were the largest of the year.
Total BTC supply rises to over 672,000
But the company wasn’t done with that yet. In the final weeks of 2025, between December 22 and 28, Strategy purchased another 1,229 BTC for approximately $108.8 million. The average purchase price was around $88,568 per Bitcoin.
This latest transaction brought Strategy’s total Bitcoin supply to approximately 672,497 BTC at the end of 2025. According to available figures, the average cost of the entire position is around $74,997 per coin. The total investment therefore represents a value of more than 58 billion dollars.
A quick calculation takes stock. Strategy bought approximately 118,000 BTC this year. Impressive figures. However, the counter decreased slightly compared to 2024, when the company bought 140,000 BTC.
