Milei’s government and big businessmen promote a totally slave labor reform. They want to sweep away rights won by the working class. It is being written directly by the employers’ lawyers.

The “argument” is that those who work informally and without rights would be favored, because the reform “creates employment.”

Total lie! Every time a sector of the working class loses a right, companies are strengthened and we all lose. Formal and informal, precarious and contracted.

Also They say that “it is forward”, it is not “retroactive”. Fake! Applies to labor laws of all workers, regardless of seniority. Attacks the validity of current collective agreements. Everything can be reformed…for the worse.

This counter-reform It is a declaration of war against the working classordered by the IMF and the US along with other retirement and tax reforms.

What do they want to do?

And hour bank for which they can force you to work 4 hours one day and 12 the next, lengthening the working day and simply paying for overtime. They want us to be another machine available whenever they want, disorganizing our entire lives along with that of our families.

They want to eliminate collective agreements by unionmoving to contracts per company. They will be able to pay the compensation in installments and put a cap on it. Fraction our vacation and put them at the time of year you want. they want salary increases for “productivity” or “efficiency” and that we burst to make ends meet.

They want to break the rights that we collectively achieved with our struggle. They want to turn us into “individuals”, that if we improve something, we do it through the extreme sacrifice of each colleague, not united as a working class.

To enforce this they need limit the right to strike almost to the maximum. With the trap of “essential” or “transcendent” jobs, they intend to take away the slightest right to defense, such as in health and education. But also in services and industry.

Some leaders of the CGT They say that this is the responsibility of “the people who voted for Milei.” Fake! Nobody voted in favor of any labor reform in the last elections. Enough excuses: unions have to defend all the achievements and rights of everyone, regardless of who they voted for on October 26. If Milei won it was due to the blackmail of Trump and the IMF, with the favor of the CGT that let the adjustments pass and the CTA that opposed it verbally but did everything possible to ensure that there was no serious fight. For this reason, Milei does not have the strength to impose his plan without the collaboration of the union leadership.

Los governors and sectors of the PJ such as Jaldo (Tucumán) have already said that they will negotiate the counter-reform. In other words, they do not have a very different plan from the government and the IMF. They are deliverers.

How to face it?

A large part of the union leaders plan to do what they always do: that is, nothing. That is why the CGT continues to mess around in the May Council. Do they expect us to trust the governors’ deputies? In those that have already agreed on the Base Law?

There are CGT and CTA unions that criticize the reform. The big question is: what are they going to do? They should already call assemblies and set a date for a first national and unitary measure of force.

From classist groups we believe that the only way to stop such an attack is to stand up the entire working class, with a general strike and a fight plan.

But We will have to impose those measureswith the strength and unity of all of us who already want to resist the reform. With common actions, unitary marches, regional or national coordinators.

If we put the power of the working class in motion, the one that moves the country, we can move towards a general strike, of the employed, the unemployed and the fighting movementsto tear down the slave reform and the entire Milei plan and economic power.

We are not alone. We count on the strength of those who have been fighting these years; the retirees, the youth and the student movement who defend the university and public education, the women’s and sexual diversity movement who took to the streets, the socio-environmental organizations and our native peoples who fight against extractivism, the intellectuals and artists who do not remain silent, those who have been facing attacks and dismissals (Garrahan, Secco, Georgalos, Teachers, social organizations, etc.). and the combative and leftist sectorsthat since December 20, 2023 we have raised the flag against the government’s policies, accompanied by the only deputies who are in each claim: Myriam Bregman, Nicolás del Caño and the entire Left Front bench.

In those fights we propose that there is another way out: the reduction of the working day (6 hours, 5 days a week) to distribute those hours until everyone works, with rights. With a salary that covers the family basket. With the transfer to the contracted, monotributist and informal plant. With a works plan that builds the schools, hospitals and plazas we need, and generates one million jobs under an agreement. Failure to pay the debt to generate these resources. It is possible, but we have to address their interests, not ours.

In the heat of this fight, we have to recover our organizations: the bodies of delegates, the internal commissions and the unions. But to impose our way out we have to take one more step. The PJ is responsible for the arrival and adjustments of Milei and also represents a sector of the business community. We workers have to weigh in on national political life by building our own political organization: a working class party without bosses or bureaucratsto fight for a program so that the powerful and the IMF pay for the crisis.

Let’s get to work.
