Against all expectations, an individual Bitcoin (BTC) Miner has found a block this weekend and earned more than $ 373,000. The lucky miner, affiliated with the Solo CK Miningpool, collected 3.125 BTC Plus transaction costs – all on his own.
One block, thousands of transactions and a considerable reward
The find was block 907283 and contained more than 4,000 transactions. In addition to the standard reward, the miner also received another $ 3,436 in fees. It rarely happens that a Solominer makes such a blow, especially now that large companies with data centers and millions of equipment dominate the sector.
Yet these kinds of ‘David-Versus-Goliath’ moments are still there. Earlier this year, two other solominers managed to find a block. One of them only used 2.3 petahash – a fraction of what the big boys use.
Competition for Miners is killing
Solominers are having a hard time. The difficulty of the Bitcoin network is around record high, with a level of 126 trillion. Those who want to find a block must provide huge computing power for a reward of 3.125 BTC – worth around $ 373,000.
Even large companies feel the pressure. Many miners look for their salvation in part in AI and high-performance computing to supplement income. Energy is expensive, margins are small and the weather plays an increasingly important role. In Texas, Miners had to reduce their power consumption in June to avoid towering costs. The result: fewer blocks, lower yields.
Even Mara, one of the largest mining companies, saw production decreasing in June.
And yet this solo victory shows: you can still win as a small player. If you are lucky – and persist.
