What is happening in Venezuela is very serious: a new imperialist aggression against that country is underway and once again they use as an excuse the so-called “war on drugs” that has only served the interests of the United States to plunder our region.

Imperialism is not satisfied with the economic sanctions that have hit the Venezuelan working people for years and now threatens armed interventions.

We strongly oppose this neocolonial policy and say that no imperialist power, nor a right-wing opposition that acts as its ally, will respond to popular needs.

Our denunciation of US policy does not imply any support for the Maduro government, which has proven to be an enemy of the working people, responsible for misery, repression and the handover of national resources. This situation of social and economic crisis was deepened by the effects of the imperialist sanctions of the United States and the European powers, which are defended by sectors of the Venezuelan right, from Leopoldo López to María Corina Machado.

Faced with the imperialist military deployment, it is necessary to raise a common voice throughout Latin America that rejects interference, denounces military operations and confronts the presence of the Southern Command and North American bases.
