The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem’s layer-2 protocol, Shibarium, is suffering from network problems. A temporary outage completely shut down the platform, preventing users from using it.

Although Shibarium itself was back online after a few hours, related services such as Shibarium scan remain offline for longer due to the network outage. According to developer Kaal Dhairya, resolving these secondary issues may take more time and require technical support to get them working again.
This isn’t the first time Shibarium has faced network issues. In the summer of 2023, the platform came to a standstill shortly after launch due to a major malfunction. It then took two weeks for Shibarium to fully recover.
Shibarium grows to 100,000 users
The problems on the Shibarium network came at a time when the platform was experiencing sudden growth. For a long time, the network had only a modest increase in the number of new users, with sometimes only dozens of new addresses per day. By comparison, the Ethereum (ETH) network welcomes more than 100,000 new addresses every day.
However, on April 13, 2024, Shibarium took an unexpected leap and welcomed more than 13,000 new users in just 24 hours. This strong growth allowed the layer-2 protocol to reach the milestone of 100,000 users, an important turning point for the network.
Shiba Inu price stable
The SHIB price seems unaffected by the recent problems on the Shibarium network. In the last 24 hours, the price has even risen slightly by 0.2%, bringing it to $0.000027. The memecoin has seen a significant recovery over the past week after a sharp correction that saw the altcoin’s price fall below $0.00002.
